The Federal Senate holds this Saturday (1st.Fev.2025), at 10am, the election for the presidency of the house. (Brazil-AP Union) is the favorite for the succession of (PSD-MG). The other candidates are (New-CE), (We can-ES), (PL-SP) and (We can).

Congressmen will also choose the other 10 members of the Senate Board. The new management will have a term of 2 years, which will be exchanged in 2027, after the inauguration of the new senators elected in 2026.
The Board of Directors is responsible for directing the legislative work. The president chosen in the election of the Senate becomes automatically president of the National Congress.
