Large visible smoke column from the site, which is very close to a shopping center
A small aircraft drew up in the north of the city of Philadelphia, the governor of the state of Pennsylvania announced during this Friday, in what is the second air crash in the United States within two days, after the Washington DC.
Josh Shapiro said that all possible resources are being allocated to respond to the accident with a “small private plane”.
According to the Reuters agency, at least two people were driving aboard the aircraft, and there are reports of several victims on site, because at least one house and several cars were hit by the wreckage, eventually catching fire.
The Associated Press agency states that at stake is a Learjet 55 plane, which was linked to the city of Springfield in Missouri. The aircraft would be in medical transport.
The accident occurred just five kilometers from Northeast Philadelphia airport, where they usually operate the load planes as well as charter flights. The city’s authorities confirmed a “larger incident” where the aircraft drew it, noting that all roads in the area are closed.
Websites that follow the flights report that the aircraft left that same airport at 18:06 local (23:06 in mainland Portugal), eventually disappearing from the radar just 30 seconds later, when it was about 487 meters in altitude.

Major incident near Cottman and Bustelton Avenues in Northeast Philadelphia across from Roosevelt Mall. Roads closed in area including parts of Roosevelt Boulevard. Avoid area.
