Sliding hits train and interrupts CPTM’s 7-Ruby line in SP

The driver was injured and was taken to a UPA of the region; City Hall and CPTM operate to restore services

In the early hours of Saturday (1st.Fev.2025), a landslide, resulting from the intense rainfall in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, caused the derailment of a line 7-Ruby of (Paulista Company of Metropolitan Trains).

The incident, which occurred at the departure of the tunnel near Botujuru station, interrupted the service between the Franco da Rocha and Botujuru stations, affecting the circulation of trains and the routine of users.

The CPTM reported that the affected locomotive driver was injured and was promptly attended to a UPA (Emergency Care Unit), where he received medical care, and is well. The company also reported that maintenance teams are committed to removing the composition to restore passenger traffic as soon as possible.

To circumvent the interruption, the service was triggered (Support Plan between transportation companies against emergency situations), providing transportation alternatives in the affected sections.

Additionally, CPTM suspended the tourist express to Jundiaí, which should operate on Saturday because of the obstruction caused by the sliding.
