The United States intends to keep up with the rest of competitors in nuclear matters. As reported from the Pentagon, Washington has approved an economic injection of 1,192 million dollars to Bae Systems, responsible for developing nuclear weapons and keeping the US at the vanguard.
With this increase, the 3.1 billion dollars are already exceeded, which is an astronomical figure in regard to this matter, and consolidate the US as one of the world’s great nuclear powers, at a time of special seizure at the level at level international.
The work of BAE Systems will take place at the HILL Air Base, in Utah, and will extend until July 31, 2027. Prior to this 2025, the US government has already allocated 651 million to the contract, thus expanding the engineering support until January 31 of this year.
The objective of this contract is to maintain the strength of the US intercontinental missiles prepared for any type of mission. In this sense, BAE is responsible for everything related to the integration of hardware and software updates, as well as the test of new systems and the realization of essential modifications in missile systems.
As we point out, the main idea of the US is to be strong at the nuclear level, act as a deterrent and recover the highest international authority in this sense, something for which it will not spare on efforts. And in that task, BAE will be the key piece, which will manage the transition and ensure that the United States nuclear power can remain devastating.
As detailed, the new contract includes all aspects related to the development of nuclear weapons: from logistics and programs management to risk assessment, something that reinforces the impulse of the Air Force towards a modernized deterrence element.
In short, the US wants to send a message to the world: nuclear development is not an option, but an obligation, and it is not something improvised but a priority. At the same time, it is an answer to the progress and development of China and Russia and a blow on the table in the face of the intimidation that both countries would be exerting on the American giant.
