Unfortunately, some Brazilian capitals are on a very bad list: the most dangerous cities in the world.

Unsurprisingly, crime is a very sad social problem in Brazil.

And despite the various qualities of the country, this index is worrying.

Brazilian capitals are among the 10 most dangerous cities in the world; Check out which

The survey was conducted by Numbeo, a platform that compiles data from various areas, such as safety, health and quality of life.

The result of this research puts Brazil in a prominent position, not by the positive side, but as the second country with the largest number of cities in the ranking of the most dangerous.

Brazil and the capitals in the ranking of the most dangerous

The study revealed a worrying scenario of urban violence, with several Brazilian capitals featuring among the 50 most dangerous cities in the world.

Three of these capitals occupy the first positions on the list: Rio de Janeiro, Fortaleza and Salvador.

This data is alarming because it reflects a reality of growing violence that affects both residents and tourists.

Rio de Janeiro, famous for its beaches and carnival, occupies one of the highest positions in the crime ranking.

Fortaleza, with its paradise beaches, also appears among the most dangerous, followed by Salvador, known for its history and culture.

These face systemic urban violence, which requires urgent actions to improve the safety and well-being of the population.

Other Brazilian capitals are also in the ranking

In addition to the three main Brazilian capitals mentioned, other large Brazilian cities appear on the list of the most dangerous.

Recife, Porto Alegre, Sao Paulo, Campinas and Belo Horizonte also face serious challenges in relation to public safety.

These worrying rates are a reflection of a combination of factors such as social inequality, the lack of effective public policies and violence in peripheral areas, which especially affects citizens’ safety and quality of life in large metropolises.

The presence of so many Brazilian capitals in the ranking of the most dangerous cities reveals that urban violence is a systemic problem that requires integrated and urgent solutions so that safety can be restored in many of these cities.
