The president of the House of Representatives, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB)he stated that the house will be “available” to build a “positive agenda” between the Legislative and Executive Powers, in a meeting with the President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the president of the Senate, David Alcolumbre (Union-AP)in the Planalto Palace, on the morning of Monday (3).
The meeting takes place two days after the elections in the National Congress, in which Motta and Alcolumbre came victorious. Legislative work is resumed this Monday.
“This is a moment that marks the beginning of this walk,” he said. “We are here, both me and Senator David, making this institutional visit, to say that the House of Representatives I think that also the Federal Senate, the National Congress, will be available to build a positive agenda for the country,” he said.
Motta continued: “Our democracy governs our constitution, and powers must be independent and harmonious. And this harmony, I think, is what Brazil needs. May we have the ability to treat the guidelines that will be sent by the Executive to treat the guidelines that will be proposed by deputies and senators, always looking for a productive agenda. ”
The mayor also stated that “those who earn with dialogue between the powers are more than 200 million Brazilians who depend on our relationship.”
Also present at the meeting were the government leader in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues (PT-AP), the leader of the government in the House, José Guimarães (PT-CE), the Senate government leader, Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), and Ministers Alexandre Padilha (Institutional Relations), Rui Costa (Civil House), Márcio Macêdo (General Secretariat of the Presidency) and Sidônio Palmeira (Presidential Communication Secretariat).
