Washington (Reuters)-The White House said on Monday that he realized that Mexico is “taking President Donald Trump’s decree about tariffs seriously” but that Canada “understood him badly.”
“The good news is that in our conversations over the weekend, one of the things we noticed is that Mexicans are taking very seriously what the president (Donald) Trump said,” said the director of the National Economic Council of the House White, Kevin Hasset, at CNBC.
“The Canadians do not seem to have understood the simple language of the decree,” he added.
Trump ordered on Saturday the imposition of comprehensive tariffs on products from Mexico, Canada and China.
