The minimum wage in the European Union Member States varied in January among the 551 euros per month in Bulgaria and the 2,638 euros in Luxembourgamong the 22 countries where the measure is in force, released the Eurostat last week.
Portugal – Where the minimum wage is paid in 14 installments that Eurostat gathers in 12 months, which gives a monthly amount of 1.015 euros -It is in a group of six member states with values between 1,323 of Spain (since July 1, 2024) and the 1,000 euros of Cyprus.
This group also includes Slovenia (1,253 euros on December 31, 2024), Poland (1,091) and Lithuania (1,038 euros).
Com minimum wages above 1,500 euros Per month were, in January, Luxembourg (2,638 euros), Ireland (2,281), the Netherlands (2,193), Germany (2,161), Belgium (2,070) and France (1,802 euros).

Purchasing Power Parity
For countries outside the eurozone, Eurostat used the exchange rate in force on December 31, 2024. The EU statistical service also divides countries into groups Purchasing Power Parity (PPC)being Portugal in the second (between 1,000 and 1,500 ppc), with Spain (1,453), Slovenia, Romania, Croatia, Lithuania, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Hungary (1,030 PPC).
The group with PPC above 1,500 euros includes Germany (1,992), Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, France and Poland (1,523).
Below the 1,000 PPC euros are Slovakia (which leads with 973 euros), Czech Republic, Estonia, Bulgaria, Latvia and Estonia (878 PPC).
