New integrated pedestrian structure allows facilitated access to one of the most imposing natural scenarios in the region.
This attraction was recently highlighted as a scenario worthy of Hollywood, as advances. The suspended bridge, which rises over a green valley, offers impressive views of the Rio dos Mouros waterfall, providing an immersive experience that transports visitors to an authentic adventure environment.
The project, inaugurated in 2023, results from an investment of about 300 thousand euros and integrates wooden walkways that extend along the banks of the Mouros River. With approximately one kilometer long, the route connects the ruins of conimbrigation to the waterfall, allowing for easier access to this point of natural interest.
The route begins with the ruins of Conímbriga, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Portugal, known for its extensive excavations that revealed a complex set of Roman buildings. Along the way, visitors find a semicircular platform with benches, offering a panoramic view of the Rio dos Mouros Valley, also known as Rio Ega.
The landscape that involves the route stands out for its natural wealth. Along the way, it is possible to observe a dense vegetation that fuses with rocky cliffs, creating an environment of rare beauty. The sound of the falling water follows the visitors, making the walk an immersive sensory experience. The suspended bridge, situated at the end of the route, provides a reliable view of the waterfall and the pond formed at its base, where it is possible to appreciate the strength and purity of the waters that cross the landscape.
Walkways are accessible throughout the year, and the period between November and May is considered ideal for enjoying the waterfall throughout its splendor. The structure has been attracting more and more visitors to Condeixa-A-Nova, including walkers, photography enthusiasts and nature lovers.
The new bridge and the walkways promise to become a point of reference in the region, offering a new perspective on this territory rich in history and natural landscapes.
