Data are 2024 and include services by WhatsApp; black women are majority (52.8%) of cases
The service call 180, aimed at receiving allegations of violence against women, observed an increase in calls during the last year, as released on 3rd (04.FEV.2025). Performing more than 750,000 calls, which is equivalent to an average of 2,000 per day, the program expanded its scope beyond the complaints, offering guidance and support to victims. The 7.8% growth compared to 2023 is the result of significant reformulations, including the separation of Dial 100, a decision made by the administration of President Lula after the unification of services during the government of Jair Bolsonaro.
The Ministry of Women attributed the increase in demand for the service to greater confidence of women on the channel, noting a 15% growth in the complaints. There were 132,000 complaints, with 83,000 made by the victims themselves, 48,000 by third parties and 156 by the aggressor. The data indicate that the main attackers are companions or former parties, and the most attended age group is from women between 40 and 44 years.
Domestic violence is the most reported, happening mainly at the victim’s residence or in the house shared with the suspect. The virtual environment was also cited in almost 7,000 cases. Among the types of violence, psychological leads with more than 100,000 cases, followed by heritage, sexual, moral and private prison violence. Many complaints involve more than one type of violation.
