The memorandum creates foundations for the integration between the Ecological Transformation Plan and the Northeast Consortium, also aiming to encourage the development of projects, environmental compensation and economic growth aligned with decarbonization and social inclusion goals.
According to the text, joint actions will be developed to connect the Project Office and the Northeast Consortium Investment Platform to the Climatic Investment and Ecological Transformation Brazil Platform.
The consortium and the ministry will also work for the future signing of a technical cooperation agreement containing a work plan with objectives, schedule and responsibilities.
There will be periodic meetings to monitor the joint initiative and to make necessary adjustments in the memorandum.
The text allows the parties to seek technical and financial resources from national and international sources, such as development banks, climate funds and other institutions, to finance actions and projects.
