The Central Bank (BC) began to offer this Monday (3) the possibility of the Brazilian to pay his slips via Pix.
This is another step in the municipality for the modernization of the country’s banking system by incorporating, according to the BC, “the agility, convenience and wide acceptance of the PIX to the experience of using the payment slip”.
Created in October 2020, the BC payment tool seeks to make the access and use of the banking system faster, practical and cheap.
According to the municipality, “any payment or transfer that is made today using different means (TED, card, ticket etc.), can be done with Pix, simply using the mobile device.” Thus, Pix can be used to:
- Transfers between people;
- Payment in commercial establishments, including physical stores and e -commerce;
- Payment of service providers;
- Payment between companies, such as supplier payments, for example;
- Collection of revenues from federal public agencies such as fees (court costs, passport issuance, etc.), public real estate rentals, administrative and educational services, fines, among others (these payments may be made through pagtesouro);
- Payment of invoices for public services such as electricity, telecommunications (mobile phone, internet, cable TV, landline) and water supply;
- Collection of FGTS and social contribution contributions.
Unlike other means of payment, Pix has no time restrictions. It works 24 hours, 7 days a week, allowing transactions among any financial institutions.
Pix also has no restrictions on values, and transactions can be performed from R $ 0.01. However, to ensure the safety of the banking system, some institutions that offer PIX set value limits based on criteria for mitigating fraud risk and money laundering prevention criteria and terrorism financing.
Next, check out some of the features that Pix already has to make life easier for the Brazilian, and others that are still planned by the Central Bank.
