The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddadmet this Tuesday (4) with the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silvato address a solution about the veto of tax reform around the taxation and consumption reform. According to Haddad, the intention is to harmonize the regulation of the reform with what the Constitution says, which will be done by a new complementary law or an amendment in the project on the new system management committee, still being processed in Congress.
PLP 108, which deals with the administrative part of the tax reform, needs to be approved this year, otherwise it is to paralyze the operation of the Management Committee, formed by states and municipalities, which has temporary authorization to operate by 2025.
“The veto was due to the fact that there was a disharmony between the text of the complementary law and the constitutional amendment and we found a solution of harmonizing, which according to reports of the interested parties, contemplates the two sectors,” Haddad told journalists.
He said he has already talked to Deputy Arnaldo Jardim (Citizenship-SP) about the strokes, to accommodate an agreement as already made about the real estate funds.
The minister will also look for the new mayor Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) to expose the problem and technical details. He has no meetings scheduled with Motta or Senate President David Alcolumbre (Union-AP).
