Hugo promises predictability of agenda in the 1st meeting – 03/02/2025 – Brasilia Today

The mayor, (-PB), said to party leaders on Monday (3) who wants to establish a series of to ensure the predictability of the voting agenda.

The lack of predictability of the projects that would be brought to the vote was one of the main points criticized by deputies regarding the conduct of (PP-AL) in the head of the House.

At his first meeting with home leaders, Hugo said he wanted to put into practice what he promised parliamentarians during his campaign. “The predictability, the planning of the sessions, what will be based. This is what the house, in its majority feeling, expressed in all the meetings and conversations I had,” said the deputy.

According to reports from participants, ideas were suggested such as weekly meetings to Thursdays to define the following week’s voting agenda; fix a time when the vote of the deputies would be mandatory in the plenary, to avoid emptied debates; and the determination that only projects will be voted on that have their respective reports filed in the House system in advance.

Now the leaders will consult their benches to see the acceptance of these proposals. A new meeting is foreseen on Wednesday (5) to establish this new procedure.

PT leader Lindbergh Farias (RJ) described the meeting as quiet and praised the suggestion of these proposals. “I have seen a president who assumes with great responsibility and interest in improving internal dynamics. These are simple measures, but will greatly improve parliamentary activity,” he said.
