What does he propose

The Agency’s Executive Board proposes to cut cuts on the basic budget programs, from the proposed $ 5.3 billion to $ 4.9 billion, according to a document released today. This amount is part of a wider $ 7.5 billion budget for the period 2026-2027 which was the original proposal, including the elimination of polio and the treatment of emergencies.

“With the departure of the country that contributes most of the funds, the budget could not be the usual,” the document said. The US is its largest government funding that, contributing about 18% of total funding. WHO has already taken some other spending cut measures following the US decision.

Trump proceeded with the US withdrawal from the first day he took up his duties two weeks ago. The process will take a year, according to US law.
