The Minister of Mines and Energy, said on Wednesday (5.FEV.2025) that sees a prospect of falling the price of diesel in the short future. In conversation with CNN BrazilSilveira stated that the price of fuel is controlled, but did not explain when and why the value of diesel can be readjusted down.
According to the minister There is no reason for drastic measures On the part of the government or truckers – one of the main classes impacted by the increase in fuel value – because the price practiced in Brazil is still lower than the international parity price.

“There is no reason to say that the price of diesel is above average, because we ended the international parity price. We are under stability. There is a perspective including price stability and even fall in the future and I believe that in the brief future ”said Silveira.
Silveira wants adhesion to OPEC+
Silveira stated that he considers important the government to approve Brazil’s entry into the (organization of oil and allies exporting countries) at the CNPE (National Energy Policy Council), scheduled for 18 February.
