Minister Cristiano Zanin of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) has removed the confidentiality of the process in which three federal deputies of the PL are investigated for deviation of funds from parliamentary amendments. The action was included in the judgment agenda of the First Class of the Supreme Court, after complaint of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).

According to the investigation, deputies Josimar Maranhãozinho (PL-MA), Pastor Gil (PL-MA) and Bosco Costa (PL-SE) were “at the top” of a criminal organization focused on the negotiation of values.

“The informative elements that underlie it are also robust. They include messages exchanged by the accused through the WhatsApp application, testimonials of witnesses and vast documentation seized in authorized searches through a court decision, ”says PGR.

According to the complaint, there are elements that prove exchanges of messages between Josimar Maranhãozinho and the other deputies involved, with information about bank data to deposit the advantages obtained.

“In one of them, Josimar even demonstrates concern about the fact that the indicated account is in the name of Pastor Gil and not a third party,” wrote Deputy Attorney General, Hindemburgo Chateaubriand.

Also according to the process, the trio acted for the “commercialization” of at least $ 7 million in amendments.

The accused, in previous defenses, claimed that the complaint “suffers from ineptitude, as it would not describe the criminal conduct, the subjective link between the accused and not the authorship of parliamentary amendments”.

The lawyers of the three parliamentarians maintained that the prosecution lacks just cause, since the informative elements that underlie it would not be sufficient to demonstrate the commission of the imputed crimes. Some pointed to defense curtailment for lack of access to evidence of the investigation.
