Silves challenges in love for a romantic walk on the march of Valentine

Silves receives, on February 16, another edition of the Gatenorass March, an initiative promoted by the Silves City Council (CMS) and integrated in the program of the 9th Show Silves Capital of Orange. The concentration and the match will take place in the Fressul area at 10:00.

Participants will be able to choose between two routes, depending on their physical preparation: a 5.3 km, medium/low and totally urban difficulty, or a more challenging path, with 10.3 km, medium/upper difficult, which It crosses urban and mountainous areas. Both routes end at Fissul, where the 9th Sylves Capital of Orange will take place.

Registration is now open and can be made online until 5 pm on February 15th through the official link. Alternatively, interested parties can apply in person in the sports sector, located at the Silves Municipal Pools Complex, by calling 282 440 270 or email. Also at the Parish Councils of the county it will be possible to register and reserve place in the buses provided by the Municipality, being the places limited. For those who choose to register on the day, it can be held on site until half an hour before the start of the activity.

Silves City Council maintains the campaign “Zero 0 – Environment 100” campaign, sensitizing participants to reduce waste and minimize the environmental footprint. In this sense, it is requested from each participant who brings his own bottle or canteen, which may be replenished during the march.

The Valentine March has the partnership of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), the National March and Running Program, the National Sport Ethics Plan and the National Sports Program for All.

The event also has the support of the Silves School Group, the Humanitarian Association of Silves Volunteer Firefighters, the GNR de Silves Territorial Command, the Pharmacy of the João de Deus Mutual Rescue Association and several companies linked to the agricultural sector and Horto -pruitola.

Integrated in the Algarve Regional Calendar of the IPDJ Algarve, this initiative aims to promote physical activity among the population, through the marching and running events that take place all weekends, from September to June, throughout the region Algarve.
