The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddadadmitted on Wednesday (5) that he is the target of a friendly fire in the government Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).
According to the minister, despite his coherent speech since December 2022, he has been the target of criticism of both government and opposition.
“I am chasing the same goals, with the same toughness and with the same certainty that Brazil can improve a lot and get out of this trap in which we entered ten years ago,” Haddad said in an interview with GloboNews.
The minister did not mention names, but, according to a report by the Folha de S. Paulothere were friction between the farm holder and the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa. PT President Gleisi Hoffmann (PR) and party members have also made public criticism of the fiscal policy led by Haddad.
The minister quoted Lula to respond to the criticism of PSD president Gilberto Kassab, who called him weak and said he has difficulty commanding.
“Who has to respond to this is the President of the Republic, who has already given the next day and said: look, a person who makes Brazil grow 7% per year, with the lowest unemployment rate, approves a tax reform, Public accounts, a tax milestone ”.

Haddad admitted to having moments of tiredness at the head of the economy, but ensured that he was willing to fulfill his commitment to the President of the Republic, maintaining the farm leadership until the end of the government.
The minister also said that he will not run any position in 2026 and believes that the management of the federal budget will be challenging until the last day. He classified this task as arduous and difficult.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, Haddad presented to the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), a diagnosis of the Brazilian economy in which he says that the government is building a “true”, also listing 25 government priorities for 2025 and 2026 in the economic area.
