Renting a car pays off
The cost of the trip is one of the most important elements taken into account by Poles at any holiday trip. For many, this factor is decisive. Most of us determine the budget they spend on vacation, and then look for where and how long to go. When planning a winter ski trip, the main item in the budget will be the costs we incur on site, i.e. expenditure on accommodation, skipass and possibly equipment rental. Due to the fact that the number of ski resorts is limited, however, it is difficult to find significant differences in prices. What we can save on is the costs of traveling to the mountains.
Air tickets to Austria, Italy or France will easily exceed PLN 1,000 per person. For a winter trip, we not only have to take warm clothes in luggage, but also skis, for which we will also pay additionally. It is difficult to get better rates for such flights, especially in the season. A cheaper solution will certainly be a train, which, however, will not always take us directly to the place – especially on the slopes abroad, which lie high in the mountains. A great alternative is to rent a car, which pays off when going to 2 people. The cost of the trip decreases with increasing the number of passengers.
-The price we will pay for renting a car for a 5-day trip ranges in the range of PLN 700-1500, i.e. in terms of one day, it is a cost below the purchase of Skipass. The way we pay, of course, depends, of course, on the period of conclusion with the rental of the contract and the class of the car. We have vehicles at our disposal, basically all classes offered on the market, from the city segment B, through compact class cars, middle class and the largest of the D segment or even E, in different versions of the bodies, also station wagon or SUV – says Monika Tomala, expert I REPORT leader for Rent A CAR in the Polish Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (PZWLP).
It is worth adding that the offer of Rent a Car (car rental companies) focused in PZWLP includes vehicles up to max. Numbers of 9 people. Two families with children will go with such a ski car. Of course, the cost of renting then increases to a range of 2,000 – PLN 2,500, but when we compare it with how much we would spend, for example, a plane difference will easily reach several thousand zlotys.
Money is not everything
When renting a car from a reputable rental company, we are always sure that it is in very good technical condition, modern, with low mileage, very young, rarely at the age of 2 years, most often they are almost new, several months of vehicles. In addition, these are fully insured cars, which means that the risk of failure or collision does not cause unplanned expenses. The safety offered to customers is another reason why every third Pole decides to rent a car for a holiday trip1.
Assistance, 24-hour help in the event of a breakdown or damage, a replacement car is another advantages of a car rented from a rental car. It is worth adding that cars from the rental are modern, which is why we gain a guarantee of travel in comfortable conditions – from air conditioning to entertainment systems. This is especially important during long routes, when our comfort can have a direct impact on general well -being and safety.
