Lula stressed that the Ministry of Finance and the IRS developed a measure that compensates for the resignation of revenue with the increase in the exemption range and that this account will fall “in the richest people”. According to him, the goal is to do “social justice”.
“A person who earns over $ 50,000 or $ 100,000 has an obligation to pay for people who earn less do not pay,” he said.
“Farm and revenue think they need to be compensated for IR exemption up to $ 5,000 and are looking for the richest people. In Brazil, when a company distributes dividends, the person can receive $ 8 billion and does not pay income tax. People receive bonuses and do not pay.
