When Bob Marley died of the consequences of a long -term skin cancer in 1981, the pop world lost its first world star from the global south, his music and his messages still radiate. At the latest with his first album published on a major label, Catch a Fire From 1973, the man from Jamaica and his band The Wailers was the international breakthrough. Reggae was soon worn out of the Kingston slums in the world that is otherwise removed for pop. These had not yet heard the messages of love, rebellion and liberation from the bondage as urgent.
