The appeal of Yuri Borisov as head of Roskosmos is allegedly related to the dispute over the construction of the National Space Center in Moscow. The successor of Borisov is Dmitry Bakanov.
Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed the chief of the space agency Roskosmos Juri Borisov and appointed Dmitry Bakanov in his place. TASR informs this based on the DPA report.

The dismissed Boris took office from Dmitry Rogozin in July 2022, a few months after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Before his appointment to Roskosmos, he was the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for the Defense Sector.
According to the Russian news portal RBK, his appeal is related to the dispute over the construction of the National Space Center in Moscow. Problems are reportedly caused by increasing costs and uncertainty about the implementation of the project.
The exchange of Roskosmos chief was described by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov for the rotation of the leadership. “There are no complaints against Jurijma Boris. (Simply) Rotation is in progress and the corporation must develop dynamically, “the spokesman for TASS said.
Roskosmos is important for Russia. Thanks to his satellite, the Russian armed forces have satellite images from the place of fighting in Ukraine.
