Iran deputies and senators play, through parliamentary amendments sent to EBC (Brazil Communication Company), the purchase of equipment and production of TVT (Worker TV) programs and the ABC Metalworkers Union.
Two agreements about the partnership were published in the Official Gazette on December 30 last year. They show that spending on public coffers will be $ 2.65 million, fully funded by amendments.
The purpose of one of the partnerships, in the amount of R $ 800 thousand, is the “production and transmission of one hundred unpublished journalistic programs, each lasting one hour, addressing relevant topics for the working class and social movements”.
The second agreement, of R $ 1.85 million, aims to “acquire equipment to improve TVT operations”. The agreements were released by and confirmed by the Sheet.
In a statement, EBC stated that the agreements made with TVT “aimed to implement individual individual amendments determined in the budget law.”
“Since 2023, the Brazil Communication Company has held agreements with 27 broadcasters that make up the National Public Communication Network (RNCP) to exchange content and technical support. TVT has been composed to RNCP since 2010 and has received amendments from 12 federal parliamentarians.”
The amendments that will be used to fund the programs and materials are from the petist deputies Airton Faleiro (PA), Alencar Santana (SP), Alfredinho (SP), João Daniel (SE), Kiko Celebim (SP), Luizianne Lins (CE ), Rogério Correia (MG) and Rui Falcão (SP), besides (PR), who is the national president of the PT.
Senators Fabiano Contarato (ES), Humberto Costa (PE) and (BA) are also used.
The highest value amendment is from Deputy Alfredinho, of R $ 500 thousand. He took over a post in the House when Alexandre Padilha became minister of the Secretariat of Institutional Relations. Luizianne Lins allocated R $ 300 thousand for both agreements. Gleisi’s amendment has $ 250,000.
These transfers were intended under the justification of “strengthening the public broadcasting and communication system”.
TVT, headquartered in (SP), belongs to a foundation maintained by the ABC Metalworkers Union. Last year, the broadcaster and former Rede Brasil website current to create a new news portal, TVT News, in a project led by an EBC’s former multimedia communication superintendent.
