Tavira Plaza, managed by WiderProperty, reinforces its commitment to the inclusion and well-being of the community by launching a sensory room dedicated to individuals with autism spectrum.
Located on the 0 floor, next to the pharmacy, this new space is designed to offer a quiet and comfortable environment, helping to minimize anxiety and discomfort caused by typical shopping centers stimuli.
According to Tavira Plaza, the room will be available whenever necessary, allowing people with autism to relieve stress and sensory overload safely.
This project arises after an in -depth analysis of the needs of this community, with the objective of providing more specific and effective support. In addition to the sensory room, Tavira Plaza is also implementing other accessibility measures, such as reducing the intensity of sound and light on Sundays, creating a quieter environment for all visitors.
To mark this inauguration, Tavira Plaza invites the community to participate in a special event on Saturday, February 8, from 11:00 to 13:00.
The initiative will be attended by the president of the Portuguese Association for Algarve Development and Autism Disturbances, Cesaniano Martins, and psychologist Nora Cavaco, who will conduct a clarification session on the autism spectrum, addressing the condition and sharing strategies for a More inclusive conviviality in everyday life.
The event will also have a musical moment with the band “Autistics”, consisting of musicians with autism spectrum, in a celebration of the talent and creativity of these artists. In addition, it will distribute it for free ear tampons, reinforcing its commitment to create a more accessible and comfortable space for all.
