Tesla vehicle sales suffered a significant drop in several European markets last month, when compared to January 2024, with the highest reduction in France. According to the Ministry of Ecological Transition and French territorial cohesion, the automaker’s sales plummeted 63% last month, totaling only 1,141 vehicles.
Germany, where the only Tesla factory in Europe is located, also registered a significant drop.
According to Germany’s Federal Road Transport Authority, Tesla’s new car sales in January 2025 fell 59.5% over the same period as 2024.
In Sweden, according to data from Mobility Sweden, the reduction was 44.3%.
In Norway, according to the Norwegian administration of public roads, the registration of new Tesla vehicles fell 37.9%, while in the United Kingdom, sales decreased 7.8% compared to the previous year, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
