Slovak Television will broadcast on Sunday 9 February at 20.10 h on Two of the sixth episode of the unique documentary cycle of the lyricistwhich reveals creative processes and life stories of the most important lyricists of the Slovak music scene.
In the sixth episode, viewers can see the story of Martin Sarvaš, who is known for its distinctive rebel manuscriptwhich combines poetry, irony and strong thoughts. Martin Sarvaš does not need to introduce music fans too much. As The court lyricist and manager of the legendary band Tublatanka gave the Slovak rock unforgettable hits as “Truth Wins”, “Today” or “Glowing Sign of Fate”.
The documentary documentary will bring the audience closer not only to his beginnings when, as a young guy with a rebel soul, he entered the world of music, but also his journey through turbulent period of 80 yearswhen the texts had to hide behind the metaphors to pass censorship.
The documentary also includes archive shots, statements of musicians and close collaborators who reveal what was Martin Sarvaj not only as a lyricist, but also as a man. Zdena Studenková also spoke about cooperation with him.
“I had never had an ambition to do something like that. And suddenly Martin Sarvaš called me. What can such a rocker want from me? I was in completely different waters. I didn’t know he was such a great poet. I just knew the face of the rocker. We got together, Martin made me 7 texts on the CD, then there were still boys like a Uhersčík oven, then I swept such bars with them a little.
