The CBF held, this Friday (07/02), the Draw of the first phase of the Brazilian Cup 2025. The event took place at a hotel in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. The initial phase of the competition has 80 teams and 40 games. In the third phase, 12 more clubs will enter the tournament.
The draw also determined the key to the second phase. In the third phase, a new draw will be made.
This year, the teams of pots A, B, C and D, best ranking at CBF and who will play away from home in the first phase, no longer have the advantage of the draw. In case of equality after 90 minutes, the vacancy will be decided on penalties.
The confrontations of the first phase will happen in the weeks of the days February 19th and 26th.

Copa do Brasil 2025: How the draw worked
The 80 clubs were separated into eight pots, with 10 teams each, based on.
The 40 best positioned teams were in pots A, B, C and D. They will face the teams of the pots and, F, G and H, which will have field commands. The intersections were like this: A x E; B x F; C x G e D x H.
The second phase switching has also been defined. That is: the winner of a confrontation of the first phase already knows whether to play at home or out in the next step.
