CBF holds draw of the Brazilian Cup 2025

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) draws this Friday (6), at 15h, the clashes First phase of the 2025 Brazilian Cup. Sporting News transmits in real time.

The draw that will be held at a hotel in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, defines the games of 80 clubs at this stage of the tournament and also the switching of the second phase. Atletico-MG, Athletico, Fluminense, Grêmio, Vasco and Youth will compete for the competition from the beginning.

Another 12 clubs enter the third phase of the tournament: Botafogo, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Fortaleza, Internacional, Sao Paulo, Corinthians, Bahia, Cruzeiro, Santos, CRB e Paysandu.

Draw Rules

The 80 teams were divided into eight pots: A, B, C, D, E, F, G e H. The division was made based on the positioning of teams in the National Club Ranking (RNC) in ascending order. The best ranked ones are in the pot and the worst in H.

Change in Regulation

For this year’s edition, CBF has removed the advantage of visitors in the first game, who no longer play for a draw to qualify. With the change, in case of equality, the classification will be defined in penalty kicks. The old rule has been used in the last eight editions.

Brazilian Cup award

The awards quotas for the 2025 Brazilian Cup have not yet been released. Last year, the champion took $ 73.5 million. Series A clubs that went from the first phase took $ 1.3 million.
