The president of the, this Thursday (6) launched the candidacy of the mayor of Recife, to succeed him in office, in an election that will be held at the 16th National Congress of the Party, between May 30 and June 1 in Brasilia.
The launch took place during a meeting of the National Directory. In his speech, Siqueira called João Campos “very promising young man” and said it was a necessary generational change. “[Isso] It points to a very positive perspective for the PSB, which can attract more young people and people who want to do the good policy to our country, “he said.
Siqueira praised the domain that the mayor of Recife has in direct communication with the population and said that this is “a great competitive advantage in an environment dominated by digital networks and of great political polarization.”

The mayor of Recife also stated that 2026 will be an important electoral moment and consolidating the figure of the vice president, who attended the meeting of the National Directory.
