The president of Russia, has presented a bill to the State Duma (the Lower House) a bill to ratify an agreement with Belarus on Security Guarantees which includes the Deployment of Russian military bases in the territory of the European country.

The agreement will have a minimum validity of 10 years and cannot be canceled before the aforementioned period expires. Specifically, the document was signed on December 6, 2024 in Minsk (Belarus), during a meeting of the Supreme State Council attended by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, and his Belarusian counterpart, Alexander Lukashenko.

According to the text, which has been published on Wednesday on the official website of the DUM real militarization of the country.

In that sense, Article 5 of the Pact signed between Putin and Lukashenko explicitly establishes the Possibility of Russia from deploying its military facilities and formations in Belarusian territory.
