Donald Trump has signed an executive order to impose financial sanctions and travel visas to the US to members of the International Criminal Court (ICC) that collaborate with the Court’s investigations against US citizens or allies of Washington.
The executive order of Donald Trump forbids entry in the USA of leaders, employees and agents of the TPI and closest to and anyone who considers themselves to have helped the investigation work of the Court.
The names of the targets were not immediately disclosed, and it is up to the Treasury and State Departments to determine the people and organizations that will be the subject of sanctions.

The ICC, created by the Statute of Rome, is an international court in charge of judging individuals accused of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. You United States, China, Russia and Israel are not members of the court and therefore do not recognize their jurisdiction.
The ICC includes 33 countries of Africa, 19 of Asia Pacific, 20 from East Europe, 28 from Latin America and Caribbean, and 25 from Western Europe, including Portugal.
TPI condemns Trump’s sanctions
The International Criminal Court appealed to the Member States to oppose The sanctions imposed by Donald Trump, stating that they are an attempt to harm the Court’s independent and impartial work.
“The ICC condemns the US issuance of an executive order designed to impose sanctions on employees and to harm their independent and impartial judicial work,” the court reacted in a statement issued on the respective website.
The court said it remains firm in defending its employees and committed to “continuing to do justice and give hope to millions of innocent victims of atrocities ”worldwide.
“We appeal to our 125 States Parties, civil society and all nations of the world to remain united for the sake of fundamental justice and human rights,” he added.
The ICC issued arrest warrants in November against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the former Minister of Defense Yoav they can for alleged war crimes committed in Gaza.

TPI sources who asked not to be identified told AP that, given the threat of sanctions, employees received a three -month salary advance in January.
At least two high court officials have resigned since Trump was elected in an effort to avoid sanctions, they added.
