US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he will sign an executive order next week to undo an Biden Era plan to eliminate plastic straws in the United States by 2027.
“Back to plastic!” Trump wrote in a post on his social networking social network. Paper straws continued the US president, “they don’t work.”
Republicans and Democrats fought a battle on straws in the middle of last year, when Joe Biden announced that the federal government would eliminate single -use plastics in public buildings.
This Friday’s Trump post did not address other unique plastic products, but they could also potentially return to government buildings.
A 83 -page report published by the Biden government has also requested more rigorous regulations on plastics manufacturing.
The dispute over straws and other unique plastics is part of a larger debate about whether the US government should work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The announcement of the Biden era came in the wake of a cultural change that led restaurants, bars, hotels and other industry sectors to change plastic straws for paper straws to help consumers reduce their ecological footprint.
