General Tomás Paiva has visited arrested military; The former minister of Bolsonaro has been detained in the Military Village since December 14
Army Commander General Tomás Paiva visited on Friday (7.FEV.2025) the reserve general (PL) in Rio de Janeiro. He was preventively on December 14 for allegedly trying to obstruct PF (Federal Police) investigations on the attempt to prevent the elected government in the 2022 elections.
The military is in charge of the 1st Army Division in Vila Militar. The unit is subordinate to the CML (Military Command of the East), in which it was commanded by Braga Netto from 2016 to 2019.
The visit is a common practice of the army commander. Since taking over in 2023, Paiva has visited arrested military.
