Hostages handed over to the Red Cross. Israel will release 183 prisoners to exchange.
The Palestinian militant Hamas movement was handed over to the Red Cross of three kidnapped Israeli hostages in Dajr Al-Balah on Saturday. Hamas expects to release 183 Palestinian prisoners from Israel under the Gaza Zámie Agreement. TASR reports according to AFP.
Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office confirmed on Friday that he had received the names of three hostages from Hamas. They are 52-year-old Eli Šarabi, 56-year-old Ohad Ben Ami and 34-year-old or Levi. Ben Ami has German citizenship in addition to Israeli.
The militant Palestinian movement Hamas kidnapped them during the terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, during which about 1200 people were killed and it caused a devastating war in the Gaza Strip. It is already the fifth release of hostages since the beginning of the fragile ceasefire on January 19. During the first six -week phase of the ceasefire, 33 Israeli hostages should be released in exchange for 1904 Palestinian prisoners detained in Israeli prisons.
