National President of Progressives (PP), Senator Ciro Nogueira (PI) estimates that if the elections were held today, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) would have no chance of victory against former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) .

In participation in CNN interviewsCiro Nogueira, asked if Lula would win Bolsonaro, said the high rejection of the current government, which reaches 49%, makes a reelection of the petista unfeasible at the moment.

“How does a man who is with can win an election, guys? This does not exist. This is unfeasible, ”said the senator, noting that the current political framework does not favor Lula’s continuity in charge of the country.

Former Chief of the Bolsonaro Civil House and Lula’s ally in the first two governments, Ciro Nogueira says that in the current scenario, the petista would not put himself for the dispute with chances of ending his career with a defeat at the polls.

“Lula today, if he had an election, he would not be a candidate. He knows that. It won’t stain your story with the defeat in your last term, ”added Nogueira.

The president of the PP also pointed out that, in order for Lula to be able to launch himself again to the presidency, it would be necessary an “economic turn”, something that, he said, “unfortunately is not in the predictions of what will happen.”

To the CNN interviewsCiro Nogueira also said that he sees Bolsonaro more likely to reverse ineligibility at this time.

“In the old days I thought Beira Impossible, I think today it is difficult, but we will fight, I have a project that amnesty the president, but today I no longer find it impossible,” he said.

The senator pointed out that the former president believes he will be able to reverse the situation. Bolsonaro was convicted of abuse of power for a meeting with ambassadors at the Dawn Palace and the commemorations of the Bicentennial Independence on the eve of the election. In both actions, they were declared ineligible for two years.

“If this does not happen, we will look for alternatives, but the decision will be his,” added the president of the PP.
