According to information, the two would have stolen a bajola – a type of boat widely used in the region – belonging to a group of evangelicals from a rural community. As a consequence, they underwent a beating session with pieces of wood while they were forced to confess the crime before the aggressors.

The practice, known in the midst of organized crime as a “taca”, acts as a discipline method imposed by the faction. The accused are forced to stay on their knees as they get blows for about a minute.

To date, there is no information on the identity of the victims or if the case will be investigated by the authorities.
