The planned hydlinec hydlinec hydroelectric power plant is the largest ecological and economic opportunity for Central Slovakia, which would make Podpoľania one of the richest corners of Slovakia. This is stated by Minister of the Environment Tomáš Taraba (SNS nominee). The project announces the launch of the explanatory campaign. Informs about it on the social network.

It points out that the benefits of the project are in billions of euros and will raise the standard of living of Slovakia. It also plans to introduce the local residents according to the project variant, which will prove the most appropriate. The project should also include the construction of sewerage or water mains. According to him, it would require “only” compensation of five families with five cottages and one team, but for others it would mean the development of tourism and wealth. One of the cottages belongs to the hockey legend Ján Lašák, who plans to fight.
The water pumping station is described by the minister as the most environmentally friendly that can be built. It points out that its performance would be twice as high as the power of Mochovce and four times larger than Gabčíkova, and “the only thing people see is one lake”. It recalls that the largest market demand is currently after stabilizing electricity that Slovakia can sell at high prices. This is what the pumping stations are.
According to him, Austria has seven in the lap of nature and villages. In Slovakia, according to his statements, there are six suitable profiles for the construction of pumping power plants, Málinec is the best project according to geologists and water managers.
Taraba informed on Friday (February 7) at a press conference that the project of the Malinec pumped power plant is currently in the feasibility study stage, and could bring billions of euros not only to the state budget but also to the location. According to him, this area is advantageous, as there is no need to flood any other municipalities and move people.
