The United States Coast Guard in Alaska found on Friday (7) the wreckage of a small plane that suddenly lost altitude a day earlier and disappeared with 10 people on board. The rescue also recovered 3 bodies.
The wreckage on snowy ground were discovered 55 km southeast by name, the coast guard said in an X post that included a photo of the snow plane and two members of the recovery team.
An update of the post said the remaining 7 were inside the aircraft, but are “currently inaccessible due to the conditions of the plane.”
The Cessna 208b Grand Caravan aircraft carrying one on their way to Unalakleet around 4 pm on Thursday, according to a statement published on the Alaska State Police website in the name.
The case happens at a time of greater scrutiny of air safety in the United States.
