The Albufeira Chamber signed the consignment of the contract renewal of water mains and distributors between Ferreiras and Cerro do Ouro, budgeted at more than four million euros, said the municipality.
The works have an execution period of 11 months and the first phase will start this week, extending until April 11, henceforth the municipality, warning that the works will provoke “embarrassment” in traffic on the Paderne Road, between Ferreiras and Cerro do Ouro, says the municipality in a statement.
The House has warned the citizens that the works could also cause “occasional interruptions in water supply in the area affects intervention”, but stressed that they are necessary to improve the supply network to avoid water losses, under the combat measures to combat measures effects of drought that hits the Algarve.
“From this week and until April 11, there will be embarrassment in road traffic along the Paderne Road, between Ferreiras and Cerro do Ouro, due to the replacement of large -diameter water supplies under the recovery and resilience plan (PRR) ”, justified the Faro District Chamber.
The consignment of the aforementioned contract was signed on Tuesday and the works have an estimated cost of 4.3 million euros, of which 3.5 million will be funded by PRR, quantified the Albufeira Chamber.
The municipality clarified that the conduct to renew have “large dimensions” and guarantee “drinking water referral to deposits, so that there is later distribution to households”.
The works projected until April 11 will be done on the section between the Sangria restaurant and the deviation to the Escarpão road, it needed.
“It is usually in conduct that, if there are water escapes, it is in considerable quantities, so the remodeling of them was urgent,” argued the president of, José Carlos Rolo, quoted in the note.
José Carlos Rolo ranked the endowed and distributing conduct remodeling contract as “indispensable” to “value the quality of life of citizens” and ensure that water supply is done “without escape” and “less waste of water”.
The mayor, therefore, requested the “understanding” and “collaboration” of the citizens and who circulates in the area during the period of the works.
