The Judicial Police (PJ) has detained a 31 -year -old foreigner suspected of trying to kill two men and detention of a banned weapon in April 2024 in the municipality of Santiago do Cacém, Setúbal district, was announced today.
Contacted by the Lusa Agency, a police source added that the man was arrested on Friday and present the first judicial interrogation, and the judge determined his pre-trial detention in the prison of Setúbal.
The facts investigated by the PJ’s Setúbal Criminal Investigation Department report at dawn on April 8 last year.
On this date, “a group of men, including the now detained, moved to the victims’ residence zone, two foreign citizens, 30 and 31 years old, in order to charge a debt, running out after the aggressions “.
The aggressions suffered would lead the victims to “remained hospitalized for a few days,” read in the statement.
The police source contacted by Lusa said that the case took place in Herge-Herry, in the Alentejo municipality of Santiago do Cacém, when “the group tried to kill the two men, armed with white weapons and irons.”
By October 11 last year, the PJ had already detained three men, between 24 and 27, also suspected of these two attempts to murder and the crime of detention of a banned weapon.
At the time, in a statement, the judiciary needed “violent aggressions” had been perpetrated “using cut-containing objects, irons and matracas.”
After being present in court, one of these suspects was in custody and was taken to the prison of Setúbal, then indicated to the Portuguese police source.
As for the other two, one was subject to trisenal presentations in the security force of the area of residence and the other was subject to an identity and residence term.
