Borderland dumplings This is a real feast for gourmets of traditional Polish cuisine. With delicate cake and stuffing from cottage cheese, potatoes and onions, this dish combines the flavors of Podlasie and the Vilnius region. Try to prepare them at home using our recipe.
You need: to make a recipe:
- 300 g of wheat flour,
- 250 g of semi -fat cottage cheese,
- 250 g of buckwheat,
- 120 ml of water,
- 2 large onions,
- a pinch of salt,
- a pinch of pepper,
- Frying oil.
Peel both onions and chop finely. Fry them in a pan with a little oil. Cool and transfer to a bowl. In the meantime, cook buckwheat according to the instructions on the packaging and add to the onions. Mix
Crush curd and add to the other ingredients, i.e. onions with groats. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Sift the flour into a bowl, add a pinch of salt and pour warm water. Hand, knead the dough into a homogeneous and elastic mass. Divide the dough into smaller balls, which then roll out on a flour -covered kitchen counter or board. Roll the dough on thin pancakes.
Using a glass, cut the wheels of the dough. Apply a large tablespoon of stuffing and stick the edges on each circle. Boil salted water in a pot. Put the dumplings into the water in batches and cook for about 4 minutes from sailing to the surface. Borderland dumplings can be served immediately after cooking or with prepared lard from glasses and fried onions.
