An Israeli officer said on Sunday, 9, that Israel’s forces began to withdraw from a strategic corridor in Gaza as part of a ceasefire agreement with Hamas that is advancing.
Israel agreed, as part of the truce, to remove its forces from the Netzarim corridor, a strip of land that divides the north of Gaza do Sul. The officer spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not allowed to discuss the movement of troops with the media.
At the beginning of the ceasefire, Israel began to allow Palestinians to cross Netzarim to return to their homes in the north devastated by the war, and the withdrawal of the forces from the area will fulfill another commitment of the agreement. It was unclear how many Israel troops withdrew on Sunday.

Netanyahu is expected to call a meeting with key ministers of the cabinet this week to discuss the second phase of the agreement, but there is no set date yet.
