According to the Lebanese presidency, it will be a 24 -member government, formed after three -week talks with the warring political parties.
Government positions were shared according to the sects, while days were preceded by days of political impasse on the appointment of Muslim Shiite ministers, which were usually appointed by Hezbolla that has the support of Iran and the Lebanese Supreme Council (Amal).
Promises for implementing economic reforms
Lebanese prime minister Nawaf Salam said the new government would implement economic reforms, bringing the country closer to access to reconstruction and investment funding after the previous year’s devastating war between Israel and Hezbollah.
In a speech, Salam stressed that Lebanon could implement the UN decision 1701, which ended the previous war between Hezbollah and Israel in 2006.
