Egypt organizes urgent Arabic summit
Egypt will organize an “emergency Arab summit” on February 27 to discuss “the last serious developments” in the Palestinian issue with the US plan to control Gaza, the Egyptian government announced on Sunday.
The summit occurs at a time when Cairo gathered regional support against the Donald Trump plan to transfer inhabitants of Gaza For Egypt and Jordan, and put the Palestinian territory under the control of the United States.
The purpose of the visit is to “reinforce bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States” and “make“ consultations on the regional situation ”, according to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by the French agency AFP.
Trump launched last week the idea that the US reconstructs the range of Gaza, devastated for 15 months of Israeli bombing, and making one of the territory one.
Trump’s proposal raised a choir of protests around the world, particularly from the Arab countries, which insisted on the need for a solution of two states, Israelite and Palestinian, to resolve the Israelo-Palestinian conflict.
Egyptian diplomacy said the summit was summoned at the request of the Palestinians after consultations “at the highest level with the Arab countries in recent days.”
