A NFL football league critic Donald Trump planning to visit the championship final on Sunday (9). The idea is to use Super Bowl as a way to “play for the crowd.” Thus, Trump would be the first president to participate in a large final, which moves millions in 59 years of the event’s history.
The White House said the president will travel to the scene to accompany the championship game in Louisiana between Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night.
Trump is posting on social networks, talking about the game, praising the stars and avoiding cheering for a specific team. He congratulated Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, for the birth of his third child this week, adding “I see you Sunday!”

Trump is also reliving another tradition: the presidential interview before the game, which will be conducted by Bret Baier Baier, from Fox News Channel.

In his first term, Trump was the main critic of NFL players, who knelt during the national anthem as a protest against police brutality.

Continues after advertising

This year’s Super Bowl appears amid the league efforts for diversity. As Trump erases the federal government programs, the NFL made its own changes and replaced the words with the end of racism with other alternatives in search of diversity.

Trump was an extinct USFL owner, a failed attempt to create a league to challenge NFL. Trump also bids for Buffalo a decade ago and criticized the latest rule changes in kickoffs, designed to minimize the risk of injury.

The president also fought with pop star Taylor Swift, who dates Travis Kelce from Chiefs and who supported Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 campaign. “I hate Taylor Swift!” posted at the time. However, he and Swift may be cheering for the same team this time.
