The director of the State Environment Institute of Rio de Janeiro (Inea), Ronaldo Carlos de Medeiros Júnior, was dismissed after being caught running away from a toll on BR-101, in Campos dos Goytacazes, in the north of Rio de Janeiro, Using a car from the institute with the reserved plate.
The incident occurred last Wednesday (5) and its dismissal was published in the Official Gazette of Rio de Janeiro last Thursday (6).
According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), after complaints that a vehicle had fled a toll, they approached the car. In the approach, it was realized that the truck plate belonged to another official vehicle, also under the responsibility of Inea.
The man was referred to the police station, along with the truck, on suspicion of tampering with signal identifying motor vehicle.
After the act, Inea settled an internal investigation to investigate the case and the server was dismissed from their duties.
The Secretariat of State for Environment and Sustainability reported that it is investigating the case and that it does not tolerate deviations of conduct from its servers.
According to the PRF, according to the legislation, private plates – reserved – should be granted to link to official vehicles when used in reserved police.
