Company can enter the race for transmission rights from 2026, expanding its offer of sports content
Netflix is evaluating the possibility of entering the dispute for Formula 1 transmission rights in the United States from the 2026 season. The information was released by on Friday (07.FEV.2025). Currently, the rights of sport transmission in the US belong to the ESPNwith a contract valid until the end of the 2025 season.
The documentary series “Drive to Survive”produced by Netflix, has been a success, contributing significantly to increased popularity of formula 1 globally. The series has attracted new fans and rekindled the interest of old spectators, which may be a motivating factor for Netflix to consider the acquisition of transmission rights.
With the termination of the contract of ESPNthe market opens for new offers, although so far, ESPNNetflix, Liberty Media and F1 have not commented on negotiations.
