The brutal murder of Joel Martins de Lima, 21, a young bricklayer, for his own brother -in -law, military police lieutenant Jorge Sidiney de Oliveira Barbosa, is a sad reflection of the violence that permeates our days.
On the morning of this Sunday (9), Alexandre Lopes Street, in the Bosque neighborhood of Rio Branco, was the scene of a crime that seems to have come out of a nightmare. Which could be a simple moment of rest, a pause deserved after and working days, became an act of hatred. Joel, tired of hard work in construction, decided to take a brief moment to recover his energies. However, as he opened the door of the house, the lieutenant, taken by excessive anger, decided that that moment of rest was not accepted and in an act of inhumanity, he took the life of his own brother -in -law.
This episode leads us to reflect on the fragility of human relations. Where did we get lost? How is it possible that a family bond, which should be sustained by love and respect, becomes a battlefield?
