Miguel Díaz-Canel cites Lula and Gleisi Hoffmann and says he is “convinced” that they will follow together, “fighting for a better world”
Cuba President Miguel Díaz-Canel (Communist Party of Cuba, left), congratulated the president (PT) and the president of the (Workers Party), by of the party, completed on Monday (10.FEV.2025).
Díaz-Canel published photos alongside Lula and Gleisi at X E: “To my dear Lula and Gleisi, I send my sincere congratulations on the 45 years of founding the History PT, convinced that together we will continue to fight for a better, possible and necessary world.”
The party in celebration of the party’s birthday will be in Rio de Janeiro, from 22 to 23 February, with free musical attractions and the presence of Lula.
Lula and the PT
With his victory in 2022, the PT returned to power after 6 years outside the executive. However, the party still depends on Lula. He is one of his founders and continues to be his biggest name.
The president does not have a clear successor to the 2026 elections. Although some in the Planalto believe he will be a candidate again, at 80, there is no defined B plan.
Lula is seen as the only name on the left capable of defeating (Pl) you (Republicans). The opposition also faces difficulties in finding a competitive candidate, as Bolsonaro follows.
